To optimize my original resume, I gave ChatGPT a prompt that would manipulate it to gear my resume toward two different industries, which ended up being marketing and finance. The prompt that I gave was “Can you change this resume to target two different potential industries I might go into? Currently, I want to go into sports management but can you morph it to a finance or marketing kind of role?”. The AI successfully generated two different versions of resumes for me. Not only did it change the vocabulary in the resumes, but it also rearranged the order of previous positions I have had to make the resume more intriguing for a finance/marketing employer. I believe that AI prompt engineering is useful in the workforce, and that with the right education on how to phrase a prompt, AI can be used in an efficient way for work and daily tasks.
